Sounds of the Rockies Frequently Asked Wedding Questions
Over the years and with the many couples we have worked with, we have been asked a ton of questions! Here is a list of questions we feel like YOU would like to know! Please feel free to contact us with any and every additional question.
We are here to help!
What kind of music will you play at my wedding? We play music from all genres to make every guest at your wedding comfortable - from your grandparents to your friends in the later part of the evening. Our planning guide will also cover the types of music you and your guests will enjoy, special requests, and will also include a "Do Not Play" list.
Will you be in business on our wedding day? Yes! Sounds of the Rockies has been a strong company in the wedding industry in Colorado since 1995 with a reputation of quality and service exceeding our client's needs and expectations. We believe that there is no room for error in our reputation. Our reputation and success of every event is everything to us! In our history, we have never cancelled or been unable to perform a single booking or event.
Who will be our DJ? Each of our Wedding DJs has specific areas of expertise. Every one of our DJs are all professional and highly experienced (5-25+ years). We work with you to match the best DJ - style and personality to fit your wedding. All of our DJs are trained MCs, take care of all of your details & formalities AND play all of the music to keep your guests up and dancing! It is important to have a DJ who can not only be the best MC - but also the best DJ (and vise-versa!) - A Sounds of the Rockies DJ is specifically experienced to be both! Yes, you can meet with your DJ in preparing for your wedding! Bios and reviews are also available for each of our wedding DJs in our office. We recruit only the best, reputable and experienced WEDDING DJs in the industry! All of our DJs are employees of Sounds of the Rockies Entertainment Group.
How will we know how to plan our activities? This is our full time job and business. We are available to our clients an unlimited number of times before their day. We have a full wedding planning guide (reception and/ or ceremony) for our clients to fill out to include timeline, special announcements (MC), grand entrance, activities, formalities, and music requests... This allows us to work with your venue and other vendors with your pre-determined details. Your DJ will be sure to keep your reception flowing smoothly and on your timeline.
How is your pricing? Remember, no price is good if you are not happy with the results! Our Prices are competitive - based on our service, reputation and experience. Remember, besides having a beautiful wedding, this is the part that your guests will talk about for years to come! It is an important decision and you should feel comfortable with the reputation and service of your DJ company. We care about the success of every event and we take pride in what we do- and it shows! Please contact us with your details for specific availability and pricing. Seasonal or promotional discounts may apply.
Do you "perform tricks" at our wedding? No! While your DJ does show a personality, we will keep your guests informed and involved while enjoying themselves without taking the focus off of YOU on your special day. Your DJ will never "sit in the corner" either. They will remain involved and attentive to you and your guests in a tasteful, respectful manor.
Do you have wireless microphones? We have all the top of the line equipment and digital quality sound reproduction equipment including wireless microphones. This allows you to have toasts and announcements made from anywhere in the reception hall.
What does the ceremony include? We will provide a wireless microphone, sound and music for your ceremony. Ceremonies are also pre-planned as traditional or custom to you! This will also include any special music you would like during your ceremony. Head-set "worm" microphones are also available.
Are you insured? Yes. We carry full liability insurance to ensure that you and your guests are safe. This is a very important part of business.
Do you travel? Yes. We have and will work with venues and events all over the state of Colorado and Wyoming.
Why shouldn't I have my friend or family member DJ my wedding or use a playlist? Everyone "wants" to be a DJ. A Professional DJ has true talent and skill in many areas. Do you (or a guest) want to handle all of the details DURING your own wedding day? You have spent a lot of time and money on your special day. A PROFESSIONAL DJ is a SMALL cost in comparison to the entire price and memory of your wedding day. A Sounds of the Rockies DJ will pre-plan your details with you; professionally and clearly make all of your announcements (MC); use professional quality sound equipment with volume suitable to your guests enjoyment; act as a liaison between you, your venue, caterer and all other vendors minimizing questions to you; coordinate your activities; keep your guests entertained from your grandparents to the younger generation by playing the appropriate music at the appropriate times by reading the crowd; take care of EVERY detail that you have planned to be sure that your wedding FLOWS smoothly and on your timeline with no stress to you on your special day!
